Our hybrid tuition programme is suitable for pupils from Year 3 upwards who have a thirst for learning, excel in core curriculum areas and are keen to take their learning deeper and apply for 11+ examinations.
Academic assessment
Your child will need to complete an academic assessment to see whether or not our programme is suitable for them. Our programme is academically challenging and our curriculum goes above and beyond the National Curriculum for their age and key stage. For this reason, we only advise children who are academically able to cope with our rigorous programme to take part.
Financial eligibility
Your family also needs to be on a low income: to qualify you must claim free school meals or receive Pupil Premium. We set this out in full under financial eligibility.
Our places are funded for pupils from low-income households, so there is a financial criterion alongside the academic assessment. To qualify for the Academy Programme your family needs to be claiming free school meals or receiving Pupil Premium.

Your child is registered for free school meals (FSM) at their school.
Your family receives Pupil Premium
Your child's school receives Pupil Premium funding because of your circumstances.
If you are not sure whether your family claims free school meals or receives Pupil Premium, your child's school office can confirm it, or ask Charlotte and she will help you check.
We also consider families with a combined household income of under £35,000 per annum. If that describes your household, mention it when you get in touch.
The Bursary Foundation is a charity and we have a duty to report to our Trustees and funders that we are servicing this specific group.
Once we have established whether or not our Academy Programme is suitable for your child, you will be sent a link to register for online tuition and in-person holiday workshops.
Year 4
1 lesson per week
One hour-long lesson each week.
Year 5
2 lessons per week
Two online lessons each week.
This is so that your child has enough time with their teacher to cover our curriculum. In addition, we recommend that pupils spend time at home practising the skills they will be taught in their sessions. Practice materials will be provided for all pupils.

Yes, absolutely! When the time is right for you and your child, our skilled team will guide you through complex application processes. We have an excellent track record of supporting pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds to access Grammar School places as well as bursary funded places at leading independent schools.
Yes! Our team is made up of qualified teachers and the classroom is our favourite place to be. If accepted onto our Academy Programme, your child will automatically be invited to our school holiday workshops. These are held at our partner schools as well as other community spaces and are a fantastic addition to our online programme.
